PPP Fire and Gas Detection System Review

Client: Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore (PHE WMO)

Location: Indonesia

PT. Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore (PHE WMO) is the operator of the West Madura Block, with current production of about 20,000 BOPD and 130 MMSCFD gas, maintained through offshore facilities located northwest of Madura Island and supported by an onshore base and gas receiving facilities located in Gresik, East Java.

At the time of the project, PHE WMO wanted to perform a fire and gas system review on the Poleng Processing Platform (PPP) to address concerns regarding the condition and performance of the system.

Synergy's Scope of Work

Synergy conducted the review of the fire and gas system on PPP in order to assess the status and condition of all dire and gas detectors on the platform and assess whether the coverage of the system was meeting PHE WMO standards.

The scope included on-site inspections, as well as 3D computer modelling and simulation of the fire and gas system.

Key Project Achievements

  1.  Created a 3D mapping of the fire and gas detectors on PPP using Detect3D software and used this model to predict F&G system coverage.
  2. Assessed the coverage of existing fire and gas detectors for compliance with PHE WMO standards.
  3. Proposed an alternative layout for fire and gas detectors to meet adequate coverage requirements.
